Kate Cuthbertson

Governance and quality sub-Committee member

Kate has had a long-standing relationship with Mosaic and its previous organisations having been a Board Member since 2009. During this time Kate has been a key influencer in the ongoing transformation of the organisation. Kate is also a member of Mosaic’s Governance and Quality Sub-Committee.

Kate is a lawyer with over 19 years’ experience practicing in the areas of Criminal Law and General Litigation. She commenced practice as a Barrister at Malthouse Chambers in Hobart in 2010 and was appointed Head of Chambers in 2014.

In addition to her work as a Barrister, Kate is a director of the Motor Accidents Insurance Board, a member of the Parole Board, Anti-Discrimination and Mental Health Tribunals, a Criminal Injuries Compensation Commissioner, and a Deputy Chairperson of the Racing Appeal Board.

 

 
 

David Benbow

FINANCE, RISK AND AUDIT COMMITTEE CHAIR

David was instrumental in the formation of Mosaic Support Services as a result of a merger.  David has been with the organisation since 2013 and has been a great advocate of transitioning Mosaic from a “good” to a “great” organisation.  David is also a member of Mosaic’s Finance, Audit and Risk Sub-Committee.

David brings to Mosaic Support Services a broad set of skills, experience and knowledge gained through many years as a Director of both profit and surplus for purpose organisations.

Catherine Spiller

Co-chair of Governance and Quality sub-committee

Catherine joined the Board of Mosaic in 2020, and is the Co-Chair of the Governance and Quality Sub-Committee.

Catherine has over 20 years experience of working in healthcare and currently works as the Assistant Director Quality Assessment and Mentoring for the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.  Previously she has held roles in the Department of Health and  UTAS School of pharmacy, Tasmania. Prior to that, she was the Director of Pharmacy at University hospital of Lewisham, London, UK. She moved to Tasmania in 2009.

Catherine brings a wealth of experience in Safety and quality, governance, risk management, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

Catherine enjoys exploring Tasmania’s beaches and mountains and is a keen artist and photographer in her spare time.

Umesh Ratnagobal

Finance, Risk and Audit sub-committee member

Umesh joined the Board in March 2019. Umesh brings to Mosaic Support Services a wealth of experience in communications, building and maintaining key government relationships and designing public policy. He is also a keen advocate for building and maintaining a strong organisational culture.

Umesh has previously managed government relations for an ASX Top 30 company and is highly qualified, with two Honours degrees from the University of Tasmania and a Masters in International Relations. Umesh is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Marita O’Connell

Marita holds a Master of Occupational Therapy and has been working as an occupational therapist for 25 years. Marita worked as the Court Liaison Officer (CLO) for Forensic Mental Health Services, Tasmania for over sixteen years. In that time, she developed the role of CLO to assist the courts in managing defendants with a mental health problem or a disability, including the introduction of the Diversion List to divert vulnerable people out of the criminal justice system.

Marita is currently an Assistant Director, Client Liaison, for the Department of Justice where she is utilising her clinical skills in a policy, program and legislative environment. The focus of her work is on implementing a number of recommendations from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

In 2020, Marita completed the Australian National Mental Health Leaders Fellowship through the National Mental Health Commission and was the recipient of the Jackie Crowe memorial prize
