Able Australia and Mosaic Support Services have officially merged

The Boards of Able Australia and Mosaic Support Services are excited to announce our merger, that takes effect from today, 9 December 2024.

Both organisations have deep roots in Tasmania, with Mosaic Support Services operating in the state for over 40 years, while Able Australia has been in Tasmania for 18 years and operated in Australia for more than 50 years.

Mosaic Support Services and Able Australia will continue to operate and deliver services across Tasmania to adults and children with disability, initially under both brands. Together, Able Australia and Mosaic Support Services will support 600 clients, employ 900 people and contribute more than $82M to the Tasmanian economy. This will mean the largest part of the organisation’s operations will be in Tasmania.

Able Australia and Mosaic Support Services CEO, Lynette McKeown, says that this merger strengthens disability support services in Tasmania and nationally.

“Today is a very exciting day as Mosaic Support Services joins Able Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for both organisations to create a stronger and more sustainable future.  By coming together and harnessing the collective resources and expertise of both organisations, including our commitment to quality and safe-guarding practices, we will increase our capability to deliver exceptional services”.

“Coming together will also give us greater ability to invest in our workforce and services for the benefit of clients, families and employees. It will ensure a stronger and more financially sustainable future, as we can consolidate costs to achieve efficiencies.” she said. “We will continue to be person centred, embedding client voices in our services, to deliver our promise of better days, every day.”

Ms McKeown stressed that for clients of both organisations, they will continue to receive supports from the people and organisations they know and trust. “In time, there will be access to increased services, as we bring our organisations together and learn from one another.”

Employees are central to Able Australia and Mosaic Support Service’s commitment to retaining a strong leadership presence in Tasmania. As such, Keryn Welch former Mosaic CEO, has commenced in the role of the Chief Experience Officer.  We know that our people are our greatest asset and remain committed to minimising changes to client-facing services and ensuring consistency of service delivery.
