Gerard's Hidden Talent

Gerard D has been supported by Mosaic to achieve different goals for many years, however most recently it has come to light that Gerard not only has a delightful singing voice, but a passion for music and sound. 

Gerard can be quite shy and reserved, but on outings with Charles they would start to sing songs on the bus coming back to Mosaic HQ. That’s when Charles discovered Gerard’s beautiful singing voice.  

Since then, they have spent some time in the multimedia suite recording a cover of James Blunts’ ‘You’re Beautiful’. Gerard has begun to emerge as quite the performer. Initially afraid to sing in front of anyone, he began rehearsing in front of the Thursday performing group. 

When asked how Gerard feels about this new venture, he says “it’s really great”. “I have also been going to workshops at the Town Hall, working with different sounds”. Forever humble, when asked what he thinks when he hears his recording Gerard says, “I can’t believe it’s me!” and explains how the process has really helped with his confidence. 

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication from Charles who has once again role modelled and demonstrated the values of Mosaic, by recognising and supporting Gerard to try something new he has built Gerard's confidence and achieve a dream he didn’t even realise was a possibility. #achievedreams #celebratelife
