Major Milestones for Three of Mosaic's Finest
This past week, both Kellie Silver (General Manager, Service Delivery) and Steve Young (Coordinator, Create) celebrated 20 years at Mosaic.
Both started on the same day and were in the same induction at Cosmos.
Steve commenced as a Key Program Worker, and over the years has been a champion for the arts, advancing Mosaic clients’ standing in the broader Arts Community, and was instrumental in the development of the Mosaic Festival of the Arts. Steve has overseen many projects at Mosaic, all of which have put Mosaic artists front and centre and continuing to challenge expectations. From radio to MONA, to State Cinema movie premieres, and all the performances in between.
Kellie commenced as a Support Worker and was recognised in her early years as Disability Support Worker of the Year at the National Disability Services conference. Since then, Kellie has held a variety of positions, Key Worker, Program Manager roles in Community Access, and was instrumental in originating Mosaic’s 48 Hour Breaks and moving to quarterly camps and other dynamic support experiences for clients just as NDIS was being introduced. Kellie commenced her role as General Manager for Community Access in 2016, and since then has added Respite and Supported Independent to her portfolio as General Manager for Service Delivery. Kellie is admired for her hands on approach to leadership and is treated like Rock’n’roll Royalty by clients when she is visiting sites.
In addition to these two milestones, beloved SIL Program Manager Anita O’Brien celebrated her 26th Mosaic anniversary earlier this year. Anita also commenced her career as a Support Worker all those years ago at STAR and has filled a variety of roles during this time. Anita is known for her dedication to clients and her passion for Active Support. Team members reflect on Anita’s work, saying that she inspires them with her high spirits and go-getter attitude.
A morning tea was held to celebrate the milestones of all three, with speeches from CEO Keryn Welch, and Nathan K, Mathew D, Lawrence D and Will W. Congratulations to Steve, Kellie, and Anita, and thank you for your dedication over the years.
