Margie's Latest Adventure
Recently Margie T went on a holiday to Launceston, supported by Sam R. Margie describes it as an 'awesome road trip.' Being able to drive the van up and stay at Mosaic’s Launceston Respite, Margie was able to travel with her electric wheelchair (which she wasn’t able to do for her last trip to Sydney).
In true Margie style when asked what the highlights were – it was everything! Apparently, she and Sam witnessed many “naughty” animals in their travels.
On Saturday Margie went to Tasmania Zoo and had a giraffe encounter. She also fed an emu who pecked so hungrily at the feed bag in Margie’s hand that the pellets went flying everywhere! After four and a half hours at the zoo, Margie had pretty muddy tyres, so headed back to Rocherlea to clean them off (Sam is still trying to clean her shoes).
Sunday was a trip to the Monkey Park – more animal antics. Then a trip to the Gorge to check out the view before heading to Hogs Breath for dinner.
On Monday they made a quick trip to Penny Royal, which was closed, so Margie plans to visit again when it is open – she remembers going there with her mother when she was little, and the cannon going off, so would like to relive those memories.
Margie said she really liked the Launceston Respite, and Prince E was very welcoming and helpful.
Margie is still planning her next trip to Newcastle to visit family.
